The enGuardia app is a mobile tool designed to assist clinical doctors, born out of the necessity for doctors on call and dealing with urgent pathologies. It provides medical information, diagnostic tools, and treatment recommendations that are crucial for physicians in point-of-care situations and emergencies.

Developed by the iDoctus team, creators of the leading Spanish-language medical consultation app with over 100,000 physician users, in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine (SEMI), a scientific and medical reference in Spain and Latin America. This partnership serves as a significant endorsement since the content has been tailored by the SEMI resident working group. Moreover, the app leverages iDoctus's vast knowledge and experience in designing medical applications. iDoctus stands as the number one medical app in Spanish and boasts an excellent user rating of 4.5 on the Play Store.

The enGuardia app is structured into four main sections:

  1. Differential Diagnosis Topics, which include diagnostic algorithms to reach a diagnosis based on patient symptoms and clinical information.
  2. Pathology Topics (currently covering 70 topics with more additions planned), encompassing essential urgent pathology subjects.
  3. Interactive Algorithms, detailed diagnostic and prescription algorithms that guide physicians through various courses of action, interrelated to refer to other protocols for a comprehensive care process.
  4. Suite of tools particularly useful in urgent medical pathology. Presently offering 21 tools such as the Apache score, water deficit calculation, Wells score, or patient bleeding risk (Has-Bled), with more calculators and scales to be added in subsequent enGuardia updates.

Being part of the iDoctus product family, enGuardia benefits from integration with iDoctus (if the user has appropriate permissions), providing responses through a unified navigation experience within just two apps to cater to most diagnostic and prescription needs of physicians.

Like all iDoctus products and services, usability has been a top priority for enGuardia. Featuring a highly intuitive design and a structure that aligns well with physicians' needs, allowing swift access to information. The addition of iconography helps users navigate the app, discover content, and utilize features efficiently. Different content types are identifiable by corresponding icons, making cross-navigation within the app straightforward (e.g., from a pathology topic to a tool like atrial fibrillation treatment leading to the Chad2DS2VASc tool for stroke risk estimation).

In conclusion, enGuardia is a comprehensive application that effectively meets the information needs of clinical doctors managing urgent pathologies, thanks to its seamless integration with iDoctus.
